    Zine Workshop
November 19, 10am-4pm, at 1036 West Kirkland Ave, Nashville, TN
Join teaching artist, Lesley Patterson-Marx for an exciting afternoon of creating your own zines! What’s a zine? A zine is a creative book that you create by hand, using a photocopier to create multiples to sell, trade, or share with friends. The possibilities for this versatile, accessible medium are unlimited! In this workshop, designed for beginners, you’ll make a few different mock-up zine structures. Types of zines will include sewn and stapled pamphlet books, accordion structures, and zines that you’ll make from a single sheet of paper. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore a few ways of incorporating collage, drawing, and text into your work. Those who have taken the workshop previously can choose to use the entire time, and JZI’s wonderful collection of art supplies, to work on content for their zines. Although we won’t be photocopying our zines in this workshop, you’ll know everything you need to make multiples on your own! All the supplies you’ll need are included.
