The Ephemeral Tarot, Tarot Deck and Guidebook contains 78 cards and a 140 page guidebook by Lesley Patterson-Marx. This colorful deck, created entirely through hand-cut paper collage, is inspired by the enduring Smith-Waite tradition. The Ephemeral Tarot is named for the 19th- and 20th-century vintage paper ephemera I have been collecting for more than 30 years. The box and book cover designs were made from paper scraps left over from the process of creating the cards. This self-published deck is made entirely through the medium of collage, allowing for chance, synchronicity, and intuition to find their way into my illustrations. I am always amazed when the characters of The Tarot emerge, as if by magic, from my collection of paper ephemera.
